PERTH — The UK will put the clocks back one hour at 2am on Sunday 25 October, ending British Summer Time, and Perth has responded with the calm of a city that has never been entirely sure what time it is anyway.
“We’re always an hour behind Dundee emotionally,” said a Scone pensioner. “This just makes it official.”
Kitchen clocks, car dashboards and the one in the doctor’s waiting room that has been wrong since 2014 will all be adjusted, or not. Night-shift workers get an extra hour. Perth gets darker evenings and the right to complain about both.
The real story: Real: UK clocks go back 1 hour at 2am Sunday 25 Oct 2026 (GOV.UK)
