PERTH — Astronomers have identified what may be the first known green star, a white dwarf whose sodium-laced atmosphere gives it a chartreuse glow, while Perth celebrated the much rarer sighting of a yellow one, briefly, on Thursday morning.
“Green is impressive,” said a Bridge of Earn stargazer. “But we had a yellow one. Up close. In the daytime. Ours was warmer.”
