CRAIGIE — A puddle in Craigie, which has not been dry since 2012, briefly vanished during Thursday’s bright spells, leaving residents shocked and a local duck “confused”.

“It was a landmark,” said a neighbour. “Children learned to splash in it. Bin men drove round it. Now there’s just tarmac. It’s obscene.”

Forecasters expect the puddle to be “fully restored” by Friday evening. A small vigil was held, with umbrellas.
