PERTH — Perth and Kinross Council has awarded a cashless parking contract worth around £305,000 after a procurement that received one bid, which, officials pointed out, is “a hundred per cent success rate.”
“It was a very competitive process,” said a source. “The one bidder was up against no one and still won. That’s real quality.”
Motorists welcomed the news but asked whether the app might also let them pay with coins, a card, or a quick wave. A spokesperson said they would “take all feedback away”, which is the same place the feedback has always been taken.
The QR code scammers, who also offer a digital parking service, have reportedly asked why they weren’t invited to tender.
