Resurfacing on the A922 at Muirs, Kinross, continues with a 10mph convoy speed restriction until Friday 6 November, according to the latest council roadworks list.
At 10mph, drivers say they have had time to notice things they had never seen before. “I’ve lived in Kinross 30 years and I never noticed that house had a weathervane,” said a woman who drives the route daily. “It’s a cockerel. It’s lovely. I’ll probably never see it again once they’re finished.”
Pedestrians and dog walkers say they are enjoying the change. “I overtook a Volvo yesterday,” said a Kinross man walking his Labrador. “On foot. The dog was very proud. He’s never overtaken anything before. He sees cars as the enemy.”
A cyclist said 10mph was “a bit slow” and he had been “stuck behind the convoy for ages”. Drivers say they were also stuck behind him.
The works should finish in time for Friday night, when fans arrive at Backstage at The Green for a prog rock gig. The Perthetic notes that both will involve long periods of waiting and something that eventually goes on for a very long time.

I walked into town and beat the convoy. Then I walked back and beat it again. I’m very fit now.

Ten miles an hour is the perfect speed to see Kinross. Mind you, there’s not that much to see.

My granddaughter overtook the convoy on her scooter. She’s five.
