A Perthshire festival has announced a star-studded line-up including former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, comedian Frankie Boyle and a star of Gavin & Stacey, and organisers are working hard on the seating plan.

“It’s a fantastic line-up,” said one volunteer. “We just need to think about the green room. And the breakfast room. And the car park. And possibly the corridor.”

Book lovers say the mix shows Perthshire’s broad tastes. “You can hear about running a country in the morning and then hear someone be very rude about it in the evening,” said one ticket holder. “That’s a full day out.”

Gavin & Stacey fans have already started asking whether there will be “a tidy bit of Welsh” at the festival. Organisers say they will “see what we can do”, but that the soup will still be Scotch broth.

Tickets are expected to go quickly. Hotels nearby report a rise in bookings, and an increase in requests for rooms “as far away from the bar as possible”.

  1. The green room seating plan will be the best show of the whole festival.
