Sunny Intervals and 15°C Forecast; Perth Treats Mild Dry Day as a Trap
Met Office puts chance of rain at 10 per cent. Residents carry umbrellas anyway 'out of respect'.

Perth faces a day of sunny intervals, a top temperature of 15°C and only a 10 per cent chance of rain, conditions locals have greeted with the narrowed eyes of people who have been here before.
“It’s a trap,” said a Craigie woman holding an umbrella, a waterproof and a smaller backup umbrella. “October is luring us out. Then — bang — hail at the Kinnoull Street lights.”
The Met Office has gusts of up to 16mph and a feels-like temperature of 14°C. Sunrise was at 07:16 and sunset is at 16:38, leaving nine hours and 22 minutes of daylight for Perth to worry about what’s coming next.
High pressure should keep things largely dry into the weekend. Perth says it will believe that when it has hung out a washing and brought it in dry, which last happened in August.

I’ve left my umbrella up just in case. It’s like a scarecrow for clouds.

A dry day in October. I don’t trust it and I’ve told the neighbours not to trust it either.

I did a whole wash AND it dried. I’ve phoned my sister in Fife to boast.
