Street Opens Permanent ‘Crew Kettle’ on Wall Bracket After Storm Week

Fictional kindness infrastructure: mug hooks, biscuits, laminated thank-you.

SCONE — After days of offering tea to energy and tree crews, a fictional Scone street has mounted a weatherproof kettle box with mugs and a note: ‘Help yourselves. Leave the plug dry.’

“It’s the least we can do,” said resident Pat. “They put our lights back. We can put the kettle on forever.”

Real crews still need clear access more than cakes — but cakes help.

The real story: Fictional.

The views expressed are those of the reader, and frankly that's on them.

  1. Crew kettle is real in my heart. Biscuits optional, kettle mandatory.

  2. Put ours out too. They earned every digestive.
